Handmade Vase Workshop

Join us for a Ceramics Workshop in the Be Just Classroom! Our shop's very own Maja Sandvang will lead participants through the practice of hand-building vases out of porcelain clay. Maja is a local potter and the owner of Maja Sandvang Ceramics & Art. On this day, Maja will share an overview of the principles of ceramics making, share and demonstrate her own techniques, and help each participant to create their own handmade vase. This class is open to all experience levels!
All of the materials needed for this class will be provided. Participants will choose from a selection of glazes after creating their individual vase. After the class, Maja will fire and glaze each participant's creation. Completed vases will be available for in-shop pick-up within four weeks of the workshop.
About the Instructor:
Maja’s approach to art is minimalistic, simple, and unique. This style is highly influenced by her time spent in nature—across Charlottesville and Scottsville—as well as attributed to her formative years in Denmark. Maja loves that ceramics help her to explore her creative side while building community. When teaching, she hopes that her students will also enjoy the tactile side of making unique pieces in a collaborative setting.
