Our ebonized bowls are made using a natural wood-darkening process that allows a the natural grain to show through. The ebonizing process reacts with the tannins in the wood to create rich dark brown and black colors. These bowls are most frequently made from oak wood. Oak is a sought after hardwood known for being strong, heavy and straight-grained.
Our bowls are sustainably sourced, upcycled, + handcrafted in New England. The ebonized nesting bowls range in size from 13” to 18”, + are a classic round shape with a clean edge + are 100% food safe.

CARE
Apply mineral oil once a month to maintain the natural beauty of the wood, except to products with our Driftwood, White Pearl, and Sea Glass finishes. These bowls are made with an acrylic food safe finish + should not be oiled.
Our mineral oil has a beeswax base that adds beauty and protection from everyday wear + tear. Beeswax conditioners help prevent wood from drying out as well as from absorbing too much moisture.
Prolonged exposure to water can cause damage; please do not submerge in water or place in the dishwasher.
Common mistakes include letting old fruit + vegetables mold at the bottom of a bowl (this may stain) + putting a bowl/board in the oven.
